Israeli Cleantech Innovation
Meeting the Net Zero Goals

Our Story
Zero49 was founded in the beginning of 2022 when a group of seasoned Israeli entrepreneurs, who made Switzerland their home, set together to discuss the Global Climate challenge...
Climate change has become a reality much faster than all
predicted scenarios and is unequivocally recognized as an all-encompassing
threat to the global economy and humanity.
The science is clear: to ensure a sufficiently high
probability of global warming remaining below 1.5° Celsius, global CO2 emissions
must be reduced to net zero by the middle of this century at the latest. This
is why unprecedented and drastic actions are required to win this race, and a
major component of winning this race is
the rapid implementation of innovative climate technologies.
Systematic observations of the climate system over many
years show that Switzerland is severely affected by climate change, in fact,
according to
MeteoSwiss, the atmosphere close to the ground has warmed
by around 2.1°C since measurements began in 1864. That is about twice the rise
in the average global temperature.
Israel is known as a leading hub for innovation and
technology. In the past decade, its CleanTech ecosystem experienced accelerated
growth reaching a surge in 2014 when the number of newly established
Climate-Tech-related startups share of all newly founded Israeli startups
increased each year, reaching 9% in 2020. This is why it came with no surprise
when
Startup
Genome ranked Israel 2# in its Cleantech Edition of the 2022
Global Startup Ecosystem Report.
Zero49 was founded in the beginning of 2022 when a group of
seasoned Israeli entrepreneurs, who made Switzerland their home, set together
to discuss the Global Climate challenge from the technology angle and soon
realized that, while Israel is the home to some of the most advanced
climate-related technologies in a variety of fields, ranging from Smart
Agriculture, Green Construction and building, Clean Energy Systems, and
Sustainable Mobility & Transport, almost none of those are utilized in
Switzerland to face the climate change.
From there, it was not long before the group decided on it's mission to make cleantech technologies
a
vailable for any Swiss corporate wishes to boost its race towards becoming a net zero organization.
